About The Refinery:

In 2011-2013, less than 2.7% of venture capital went to women-led companies. The Refinery was founded in mid-2014 to fuel the growth of women-led companies and close this funding gap. Leading companies that have participated in their mentor-driven, intense personalized program, raise on-average, $700,000 within six months of completing their program.
Since inception, The Refinery has had 31 companies, 4 cohorts, who have raised $10million+ funds.  Most recently, The Refinery ran VentureCamp for 31 internationally based companies.  The camp received rave reviews from both the participants and Connecticut Innovations, the funding source.
Currently, The Refinery has teamed up with Uber, and the Kauffman Foundation to launch Fueling the Growth Pitch Competition for technology-driven, women-led companies.
